EDN (European Dancehouse Network)

European Dance Development Network – EDN, established as a legal association of dancehouses in 2009, is a network of dance development organisations based in Europe. In 2026, EDN counts 54 member organisations in 28 European countries, working towards a sustainable, progressive and equitable dance sector. As an EU network for dance, EDN advocates for better working conditions in contemporary dance, raises awareness about the relevance of dance for societies.

European Dance Development Network (EDN) is a consortium of European organisations dedicated to dance and choreographic arts. The network’s members join in their mission to strengthen the role of dance in our societies today. They provide professional work structures for dance artists, run educational programmes, create conditions for research and advocacy, and produce high-quality programmes.

EDN serves as a hub, a mediator and an international connector to raise awareness about the specific nature of dance and enhance the sector’s professional development.

A central aspect of EDN’s work is establishing a strong foundation for knowledge sharing and collaboration among the network’s members. EDN collaborates in partnership with other organisations, networks, and stakeholders to advocate for dance, inform policy work and hold space for dance in the EU development programmes.

EDN envisions a thriving European dance sector that enriches communities and pushes boundaries. And a European society where dance and dance artists provide joy and positive challenge to citizens everywhere.
