SÂLMON festival

Like a mirror plummeting through the window, in this Sâlmon 2026 the point of view shatters into pieces. The theater becomes a cave, and, plunged into darkness, we no longer know where the skin ends and the world begins. Closed and asleep, the eyes dance to invoke all that is not, and the fragile mirage of reality trembles under the vast influence of what could be. Imagination transports us to a place where dreams are shared.

Words, images, and sensations blur the bodies until their form, origin, and gender become unrecognizable. Otherness is the precarious seam that sustains the illusion of identity. All it takes is a tug on the thread for a trail of sequins and colored crystals to spill forth.

Sculpture, film, choreography, drawing, performance, poetry, and music intersect with one another again and again until it becomes impossible to name what stands before us. Yet dance remains here, both on and off the stage: a dance that is as much a celebration as it is a courtship, and where all forms of desire are welcome.

We will feature two legendary works that have toured all over Europe but have never been seen in Barcelona: “Light Years Away” by Edurne Rubio and “Labourer” by Madeleine Fournier, three Catalan premieres featuring Cuqui Jerez, Clara Furey, and Comic Performance Gym, a Sâlmon co-production with Toni Hervàs, and works by Misiker, FDIHA Association, and Alix Eynaudi.

Curated by Quim Pujol / With the support ICUB Barcelona City Council de and OSIC – Generalitat de Catalunya.
