GROUP LA BOLSA

The act of portraying, as we know it from painting, photography, sculpture or audiovisual arts, sets an intimate frame for the individual and reveals their uniqueness. At the same time the portrait reveals the portraitist, their own interest, attention, obsessions and desire to exist within their work or through it. What do they hide? What do they allow to emerge?
Errant portraits is a performance with 8 makers on stage, amongst which the sound space and light design are included. All the elements participating in the performance (light design, text, sound space and movement) have the same importance and they build up the action on stage from a horizontal relation, using agreements in the present moment and establishing constant live negotiations.
The collective Group LaBolsa proposes a journey on the idea of a scenic portrait, which reflects on the sensitive human condition, the fragility of the individual within the collective and the need to belong to something beyond the individual.

The collective Group LaBolsa, founded by Cecilia Colacrai, Iris Heitzinger, Natalia Jiménez, Xavi Moreno, Federica Porello, Mireia de Querol and Anna Rubirola, was constituted in 2012 in the city of Barcelona. Their first creation, “The Measure of Disorder” arises from a collaboration with the choreographer Thomas Hauert, director of the Belgian company ZOO. This performance was premiered in 2015 with the support of the Festival Grec 2015 (Barcelona), Charleroi-Danse and Les Brigittine (Brussels). Since then the collective has held regular meetings, focusing its work on the development of an improvisation and composition method based on scores at the service of live stage creation.

Errant Portraits is the vessel that encompasses these processes in the encounter with the public.
