Lorca’s work is performed through movement by Taiat Dansa. The bodies of Bernarda Alba’s five daughters stage their drama by means of choreography, live music and documentary. The company explores a lyrical work brimming with mystery and choreographic poetry, and the focus is once again on women. By invoking these five sisters, they take us on a journey into such universal themes as oppression, family strife, social criticism and the fight for freedom and identity.

Meritxell Barberá and Inma García graduated in classical and contemporary dance in Valencia and founded their own company, Taiat Dansa, in 2003. Since then, they have presented their shows at key venues and festivals both in Spain and abroad. Furthermore, they have directed the 10 Sentidos Festival since 2011, which is programmed annually at various theatres, museums, cultural centres and public spaces around Valencia.
