Lorena Nogal is one of the most outstanding dance performers in Spain. In La Protagonista, she proposes a solo focused on research into the body, the main tool of study. In her own words, “the piece operates like psychoanalysis in motion, an alchemical laboratory where I unravel myself, reset myself and let myself be transformed by everything that surrounds me”. The work is based on the idea of constant, permanent transformation, within the realms of finitude and temporality. It is a reconciliation with the changing nature of existence.
Lorena Nogal trained at the Institut del Teatre and IT Dansa and has been a key member of La Veronal since 2008, where she works closely with Marcos Morau as a performer and creative partner. She has appeared in shows by such prestigious companies as the Paris Opera Ballet, the Nederlands Dans Theater and the Ballett Zürich. At the same time, she has developed her own work, with shows in which she explores the dissociation of movement, the construction of the plastic image and the body as a space for transformation. In 2024 she won the Spanish National Dance Award in the performance category and the Talía Award for the best female performer.
