A piece for five performers, five computers and an online streaming platform where “women watch themselves while being watched”. This work explores the overexposure of the female body in the digital age, the repetition and burnout of images on the internet, as well as the hyperconnectivity of the social media. It questions the capitalisation of the body, eroticism in fashion and the invisibility of women in the immaterial data market. Capitán proposes new ways of observing and being observed.

Candela Capitán moves between the popular and the subcultural, the stage and fashion, performance and dance. The creator plays with female sexuality and voyeurism, ironically and playfully spotlighting the dark sides of life. New communication technologies, cross-border relationships between artistic disciplines and intergenerational impact count among her concerns, and her shows explore the activation and deactivation of social ties by placing the body in relation with other bodies, objects and collective imaginaries.
