CULLBERG / RENAN MARTINS

The Cullberg Company appears for the first time with Brazilian dancer and choreographer Renan Martins, who also works in this new immersive dance show with Swedish DJ and musician Olof Dreijer, founder of the electronic pop group The Knife. In Guerrilla, the stage is transformed by rhythmic energy into a democratic space where the roles of performer and spectator are blurred, fostering a sense of unity and shared experience. This work speaks to the power of collective action and artistic expression as tools for social transformation and commitment.

Renan Martins is a graduate of both the SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance) and P.A.R.T.S (Performing Arts Research and Training Studios), where he began to develop his choreographic work. His first full-length piece was nominated one of the most important works of 2016 at Aerowaves. As a performer he has danced for Iztok Kovac, Marysia Stokłosa, Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Alexandra Waierstall, Ceren Oran, Daniel Linehan and Peter Savel. He has been a member of the company Damaged Goods/Meg Stuart since 2013.

Cullberg is one of the best known Swedish dance companies worldwide. It has 17 dancers and Kristine Slettevold has been its artistic director since 2022.
