momenta is an invitation to celebrate the beauty and fragility of humanity. The piece takes us on a hypnotic journey through the poetry and physicality of human bonds, in a kaleidoscope of energy that captures moments in which individual trajectories collide and interweave. The dancers transcend physical limits to explore the full potential of their bodies in a demonstration of grace, strength and vulnerability.

The Sydney Dance Company is Australia’s most international company. It is directed by Catalan choreographer Rafael Bonachela, whose unmistakable style is situated in the exploration of pure movement. The result is an incandescent dance that bursts forth from the power of movement, where energy and physical strength are combined with enormous emotional sensitivity. Bonachela was born in La Garriga and moved to London to join the legendary Rambert dance company, of which he was a member from 1992 to 2004. In 2008, Bonachela premiered his first full-length production with the Sydney Dance Company, 360°. Less than six months later, he was appointed artistic director of the same company.
