SOL PICÓ CIA. DE DANSA

Fly in Sol Picó’s plane with her alter ego at the controls. The dancer and choreographer presents an exercise of sincerity where she reveals her vulnerability to the other travellers (the audience) and exposes the deep-seated fear that has always accompanied her throughout her artistic career. It is a panoramic look at the evolution of an artistic career “on tiptoe”: what is left behind, which is acquired and what survives.

With One-Hit Wonders, Picó presents an overview of the highlights of her career. She does so in a solo made up of emblematic pieces from the most representative works of her career, such as Memòries d’una puça (2012), El llac de les mosques (2009), Paella mixta (2004), Bésame el cactus (2000) and D.V.A. (Dudoso Valor Artístico, 1999).

Choreographer and dancer resident in Barcelona, Sol Picó founded her own company in 1993, with which she has developed her own personal style. She has produced numerous shows, many of them award-winners, such as Bésame el cactus, La dona manca o Barbie Superstar and El llac de les mosques. In 2004 she was awarded the National Dance Prize by the Catalan Government.
