Inaudible, created in 2016, draws on the concept of “interpretation”. Thomas Hauert resorts to existing pieces of music and relates them very closely to structured improvisations linked to the music. In this case, the dancers tackle the Concerto in F by George Gershwin and Ludus de Morte Regis by contemporary composer Mauro Lanza. Always in search of new approaches to dance, Hauert reverses the technique of Mickey Mousing (film music that highlights every physical movement) and makes the movements directly follow the music. The result is a very detailed, condensed choreography, a fascinating series of movements that make for a tangible musical experience.

In 1998, the Swiss dancer Thomas Hauert formed his own company of contemporary dance ZOO/Thomas Hauert and has created more a dozen pieces which have toured all over the world. He has also created pieces for e.g. P.A.R.T.S., the Zurich Ballet, Toronto Dance Theatre and Candoco Dance Company. Hauert is the academic director of the new bachelor degree in contemporary dance at the school La Manufacture in Lausanne since 2014. In Barcelona he has presented Modify, Walking Oscar and Accords with ZOO and the duet From B to B with Angels Margarit and La mesura del desordre with the group La Bolsa.
