4 sterile tiled rooms, 4 dancers, 8 cameras, countless people. This is the starting point for the new digital Live production by the dance company DIN A 13 tanzcompany. We all find ourselves in the moment of events, of occasions. Connections are created through walls – and confront the present with the past.

2020 marks the 45^th anniversary of the end of the Francoist dictatorship in Spain and the 75^th anniversary of the end of the National Socialist dictatorship in Germany. In cooperation with her Spanish colleague Jordi Cortés Molina and video artist Jürgen Salzmann, choreographer Gerda König refers to the traumas of their two nations, which, in a very concrete sense, arose in camps and prisons strictly hidden away, the “cellars of society”.

Since 1995 under the artistic direction of Gerda König, and in collaboration with choreographer Gitta Roser, is one of the few dance ensembles internationally in which the members are dancers with different physiognomies. The investigation and visualisation of the quality of movement of ‘other bodies’ and their diversity form the basis for the ensemble’s choreographic work and characterises the artistic approach of the company.
