THE SHOW

Capas is a show that brims over with poetry and humor, where the circus arts are fused with live music and dance and where the performers strip away the covering layers to unveil their secrets. With little disputes and games, the show takes us to a familiar scene of warm and festive gatherings.

To the beat of drums and Italian songs, a giant central cabinet unfolds to reveal its multiple layers. Music and movement set the tone, alternately treated with energy, gentleness and self-irony. The artists explore the variety of rhythms and the expressive potential of technical gesture. Hands to hands, acrobatic balancing acts, death-defying somersaults and human pyramids in movement, the acrobatic acts use all these possibilities to explore the layers of personality and society, while providing different keys to understanding the show.

THE COMPANY

The “eia” Circus Company (“yes” in Sardinian, “elans imprevus accordés” in French, or “agreed unforeseen impulses” in English) emerged from the fusion of two groups: Armando Rabanera, Fabrizio Giannini and Cristiano Dellamonica (Cirque Vague, Circo de la Sombra and Le Grand Osimo Orchestra) and Francesca Lissia and Celso Pereira (Celso y Frana), who were motivated by a desire to explore and compare their ways of doing circus. They first met in Madrid and after pursuing different careers around Europe reunited four years later to develop this project. It is precisely the artistic peculiarities of each of the members – all of them with varied training and experience – that constitute the strong point of this company.
