THE SHOW

The work that will be premiered at the Mercat is a reflection on the struggle of being and the ability to find simplicity, naturalness and trust through existence. This is a dynamic and emotional piece, where silence, vibration, sound textures, aesthetics, sound, voice, dance and the stage follow a path of deep discovery leading somewhere… The show is based on a structure containing diverse vignettes, all with very different images and registers.

The artists investigate concepts such as imperfection, which can somehow be perfect, and propose a deeper exploration of the strength of feeling, the fragility of pain, and pleasure. It also speaks of incommunication as a path to communication, which is the main focus of the encounter.

THE ARTISTS

The flamenco dancer and choreographer Rocío Molina, winner of the 2010 National Dance Award (in the performance section), has had a wide-ranging career: in 2001 she joined the company directed by María Pagés, with whom she toured worldwide. In addition to establishing herself as one of the best flamenco dancers of her time, Rocío has worked on choreographies with the companies directed by María Pagés and José Porcel, the Real Conservatorio de Danza de Madrid, the Nuevo Ballet Español, and in the show Soulería, directed by Pitingo and Juan Carmona. She has created several shows and has performed as guest artist with Antonio Canales, Miguel Poveda and Chano Lobato, among others.

The flamenco singer Rosario La Tremendita is considered one of the great figures of today’s flamenco. Among her numerous awards, special mention should be made of the prize won at the XVII Nacional Competition of Flamenco Art in Córdoba in the “Bulerías” and “Soleá por Bulerías” section. She has performed extensively throughout Europe and America, working with artists such as Belén Maya, Rocío Molina and Andrés Marin as well as pursuing a solo career. She is currently preparing her second album.
