This piece explores speech as a weapon of power and uses excerpts from a sermon by the ultra-conservative and TV evangelist preacher Jimmy Swaggart, showing its intimate nature: violence.
The Belgian company Voetvolk was founded in 2007 by the dancer and choreographer Lisbeth Gruwez and the musician and composer Maarten van Cauwenberghe. The two artistes had met in Jan Fabre’s lab and together created 11 shows. Their work is a constant dialogue between body and aural movement.
