Multitud tackles in a performative way some questions about the individual and the collective body, understanding both of them as cultural builders and spaces for political struggle. This project was begun in Mexico City in 2011 and dealt with the concept of ‘multitude’ as it has been propounded by some contemporary thinkers. This notion, as opposed to that of crowd or people, analyses the ‘social form’ of contemporary man, as well as the notions of heterogeneity within the collective, otherness, public space and interpersonal relationships. In Barcelona, it will be presented with cast of more than 50 performers.
