MANUEL LIÑÁN

RADICAL D’ARREL: Muerta de amor

From May 1 to 3
Popup - Descomptes

In this show twelve artists, both dancers and musicians, take to the stage to lead us in a homage to love, in the broadest sense of the word, and its consequences. Taking copla folk music and updating it with new sounds and structures, this will be a musical encounter that connects past and present, with the choreography transporting us into different spheres: desire, fantasy, the carnal, hugs, religion… reflecting on the importance of human relationships.

2017 National Dance Award winner, Manuel Liñán is a dancer and choreographer with flamenco roots who, after years of studying contemporary trends, leans into the continuance of tradition, taking it to an unexpected place, to a point of geniality and simplicity, thereby positioning himself at the forefront of flamenco. His shows are characterised by an absolute mastery of the stage space and the ability to create new paradigms, exploiting them to their maximum potential. Manuel creates an emphatic, traditional storyline in which the singing, guitar and dancing function as hosts.
