Euripides’ Medea is one of the most dramatic stories of betrayal ever written. In the version of the myth recreated by Thomas Noone, we are witnesses to love and heartbreak, admiration and contempt; we see how the characters compete with each other through the use of a rich, complex and very physical dance that offers a contrast between highly dynamic movements and moments of exquisite fragility and intimacy.

The performers weave their own reality. As spectators we see our own weaknesses as in a mirror, exposed by the characters who are hurt and hurt each other. The skill and vigour of the dancers is reinforced by an electronic soundtrack enriched with contemporary urban influences.

Thomas Noone is a choreographer who instills his shows with a physical, athletic style. He has worked with his own company in Barcelona since 2001 (resident at the SAT! theatre since 2005). He also works as a guest choreographer for international companies such as Norrdans (Sweden), Ballet du Rhin (France), Company E (Washington) and Stopgap (Great Britain).

He has been artistic director of the festival since 2006 and is dance consultant for the regular programming at the SAT!. He has also organized additional activities with an international character for the theatre (El Grec, Aerowaves) and the week of integrated dance since 2009. In 2011 he received the City of Barcelona Award.
