This work derives from an unprecedented collaboration between the flamenco dance of Vanesa Aibar and the sounds of metallic percussion and electronic music of Enric Monfort; in this meeting that has been a long time coming, the possibilities of sound and movement are taken to the extreme, unfolding in the space until they melt into a single thing. A cutting-edge sound system enables the sounds to be concentrated in different parts of the space, creating an immersive sound within this artistic ceremony.

Vanesa Aibar’s flamenco is defined as a modern and free dance with great technique. Since she created her first show in 2019, the flamenco dancer and creator has positioned herself within the contemporary flamenco scene. She has also worked with artists such as Carmen Linares, Andrés Marín, Blanca Li, Eva Yerbabuena, Mayte Martín and the Royal Concertgebouw. Enric Monfort is a percussionist and composer, with an extensive career, who lives and works in the Netherlands. Specialising in South Indian rhythmic techniques applied to contemporary music, he is a teacher of rhythmic complexity, multi-percussion and chamber music. He collaborates with different groups, ensembles and international orchestras.

La Reina del Metal has just received the Max Award 2023 for Best Dance Show.
