SOL PICÓ CIA. DE DANZA

A show in which three artists, Sol Picó, Candela Peña and La Shica, from three different fields – dance, acting and music – look at women in society, though from a very particular viewpoint, sometimes ironic and humorous, and sometimes raw. They do so through flamenco, a genre in which none of the three are specialists. This three-sided interplay, accompanied by two musicians, lies somewhere between absurdity, reflection and entertainment. The show is fruit of an invitation to the 2014 Ciutat Flamenco festival.

Dancer and choreographer, Sol Picó created her own company in 1993 and has staged numerous shows that have earned national and international recognition. Candela Peña is one of the most idiosyncratic actresses in Spanish cinema and makes her debut onstage with this project. La Shica makes Spanish music her own in a very special way.
