We celebrate the centenary of the Institut del Teatre alongside its in-house company, IT Dansa.
After its appearances at the Grec 2012, when it visited several different neighbourhoods, the IT Dansa company brings Kamuyot to the Mercat for its premiere in Catalonia, with a choreography by the Israeli Ohad Naharin. This piece, originally intended for the small children, has managed to seduce the adult public too.
Intense, funny, poignant… these are just some of the adjectives that describe Ohad Naharin’s choreography, which now sees its premiere in Catalonia. The choreography was intended for a young audience but has been enjoyed by children from six to ninety in very different countries. The proposal subverts the traditional relationship between public and dancers through interaction that breaks down the barriers that keep them apart. Using the universal language of movement, it creates an intimate and emotional context where all those elements that unite us, rather than those that divide us, are placed in the forefront.
The IT Dansa company – a veritable breeding ground for performers – will take this piece to different districts around Barcelona, starring in a travelling show that will change venue every week.
