Two dancers display a magical game of appearances and disappearances of bodies and accessories, creating very powerful images. In Hocus Pocus, the common thread is the fraternal relationship between the two dancers, both through the challenges they devise in order to strengthen themselves and in the fantastic journey that awaits them once they have overcome them. The piece appeals to the audience’s imagination, while weaving a narrative plot, which open enough for each child to create their own story.

Philippe Saire, one of the leading figures in contemporary Swiss dance, has created some thirty shows, as well as site-specific performances, short films and workshops. His choreographic work, often intense and carefully crafted, integrates the visual arts, theatre and film. Since its inception in 1986, the company has performed more than 1,400 shows in more than two hundred cities around the world. In 1995, Philippe Saire inaugurated Théâtre Sévelin 36, his work space in Lausanne, dedicated exclusively to contemporary dance.
