LA VERONAL

Marcos Morau’s new creation at the helm of La Veronal is aimed at young people and adolescents who are at the point in life where they mourn the childhood they have left behind and where a new world is on the horizon. This piece is halfway between dance, film and theatre in a changing space, in which the characters find themselves in a labyrinth full of possibilities.

Morau founded La Veronal in 2005, and since then he has positioned himself as an indispensable creator on the international choreographic scene, receiving awards such as Spanish Ministry’s Premio Nacional de Danza 2013 and the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona 2022. With numerous shows under his belt, Morau has choreographed for renowned companies such as the Royal Danish Ballet, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Nederlands Dans Theater, Opéra Nacional de Lyon and Skånes Dansteater, among others. Morau has just been selected as an associate artist of the prestigious Staatsballett Berlin, one of the largest companies in Europe, for 4 years. In addition, he has recently been named Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture.
