CIRC D’ARA MATEIX: Masha

May, 10 and 11
Popup - Descomptes

Masha is a circus-based experience presented through a stage device: a piece of linoleum one metre wide by eight metres long covered with body oil, on which two bodies develop a repertoire of movements and displacements. A piece in the form of a creative laboratory where we can investigate, observe, reflect and coexist collectively, paying full attention to some specific aspects of human relationships in the contemporary world.

Masha is Palimsesta’s first project. The company was founded at the end of 2021 by Andrea Rodríguez de Liébana, graduate in Circus from Rogelio Rivel and in Architecture from the ETSAB-UPC, and Sergi González, a graduate of the National Centre for Circus Arts in London. The company is interested in complexity brought about by the accumulation of layers and realities that make up who we are. The company’s first work got them selected for the Trànsits de la Creació support programme promoted by La Central del Circ. They also won the circusnext Platform awards (2022-23).
