HAPPY is a visceral celebration of the body, its limits and its power. A Chinese stick, two bodies that seem like four and an uncontrollable desire to free oneself. It is the possibility of (de)constructing our existence through a naked, rebellious and vulnerable being. In this show, the body becomes a tool and territory to challenge its own limits, where accident and despair are transformed into a stage form. The dissident, mortal and raw existence is claimed as a form of circus and celebrates humanity in its highest expression. “When all the doors are open, when all the anchors have sunk, we will finally be able to dance without falling”.

Cirque Désolé is formed by the Argentine creators based in France Mau Cugat and Julieta Martín. Cugat is a stage artist, creator and performer specialized in contemporary dramaturgies. She trained in circus in Argentina and at Codarts (Netherlands) and at the Laboratorio Escola de Jessica Walker (Barcelona), where she delved into physical theatre and intuitive creation processes. She has worked with the company Circo La Putika (Czech Republic) and later founded and co-directed Cirque Désolé, while touring internationally with her solo Queerass(é): Acto I —Cánticos de un cuerpo sin género. Martín, who specializes in Chinese stick, trained in Argentina and at ESAC (Brussels). She collaborates as a performer with several companies and tours with her solo Pretty for Nobody. She is the founder and co-director of Cirque Désolé.
