WE ARE NOVIAS - WAN

New edition of the CÈL·LULA programme of support for choreography. The company We Are Novias WAN has been selected for this 7th edition, with a piece that examines the figure of the go-go dancer as a political, performative and cultural body, advocating choreographic languages ​​linked to club culture, underground scenes and contemporary urban dance. With a dramatisation that blurs the boundaries between stage and audience, the show combines dance, light, costumes and electronic music to develop an exuberant celebration of the presence, desire and permanence of bodies on the margins.

WAN is directed by Aina Lanas and Valentina Azzati. Lanas is a dancer, choreographer and movement director. She has directed large-scale pieces such as MAWU and Sosiego and has been invited to present her works at festivals all over the world. She is a member of the creative team of the laboratory for onstage improvisation Si Los Martes Fueran Viernes, and also of LaCerda. Valentina Azzati is a multidisciplinary creative director specialising in the conceptual, aesthetic and technical development of the performing arts and large-scale cultural events. Her work incorporates lighting, styling and choreography.
