CIE O ULTIMO MOMENTO

THE SHOW

This show emerged from the meeting between two acrobats specialised in the Chinese pole, Paulo Dos Santos and Guillaume Amaro, and their desire to confront different approaches and create new possibilities by drawing on the ideas of their stage director, Olivier Antoine.

Ce qui reste goes beyond the Chinese pole, using other elements such as dance, acrobatics, the wooden post, music and video, which are harmoniously interlinked. The piece takes its inspiration from the The Lost Mariner, one of the essays in The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat by Oliver Sacks. Is this man without memory a real person or fruit of our imagination, a product of our thinking?

THE COMPANY

O Último Momento is a Franco-Portuguese circus troupe founded in 2004 by Portuguese artist João Paulo Dos Santos and French musician Guillaume Dutrieux after they met in the Cheptel Aleïkoum, an art group formed by graduates from the Centre National des Arts du Cirque’s fifteenth year. Based inFrance, the company travels all over Europe, and also Asia, North and South America andAfrica. O Ultimo Momento base their shows primarily on the discipline of the Chinese pole, João Paulo Dos Santos’s speciality, but they have an open attitude to other equipment and artistic fields.

Three seasons ago the company performed at the Mercat de les Flors in a dance and circus series, with a choreography directed by Rui Horta.
