From one to two, I glimpse “I” through us. “Beings” finds inspiration in the Chinese character “人” (person). The dance piece explores the bonds between the two supporting calligraphy strokes, between the two intimately linked performers, between the rice paper and the ink. “BEINGS” profoundly connects its two performers in a stirring duet that culminates in an unexpected twist.

Shimmering Production was founded in 2019 by Wang Yeu-Kwn and Lee Yin-Ying, with two main focuses: creating contemporary experimental works, and building up movement workshops, “Hand in Hand, We Dance”, for the general public. The Company’s dance piece, Beings, the first episode of Wang Yeu-Kwn’s “A Trilogy – Quest of Relationships”, has been awarded double awards and residency rewards at 2021 Yokohama Dance Collection, and has since started its international touring to Greece (2022), Germany (2022 & 2023), Japan (winter 2023), Spain (spring 2024) and Portugal (spring 2024). While its international touring and outreach programs continue to grow, Shimmering Production has also moved on to create Islands, the second episode of “A Trilogy – Quest of Relationships”, which is a commission by the National Theater and Concert Hall and will premier in the fall of 2024.
