Inaugurated in January 2011 as a tribute to the choreographer Pina Bausch, this 240 m2 multipurpose room fulfills the functions of a rehearsal room and also hosts small-scale activities. With titles such as La consagració de la primavera and Café Müller, Pina Bausch (Solingen, 1940-Wuppertal, 2009) is the creator of dance-theatre. Her innovative commitment, received with controversy, and cultivated over the course of 36 years as director of the Tanztheater Wuppertal, opened the doors to a new dimension for dance by endowing it with dramatic resources and a great poetic charge. His show ‘1980’ was the first contemporary dance show to be seen at Mercat de les Flors.
