Inspired by the work of writer and illustrator Jimmy Liao, the new show from Nats Nus is intended for all kinds of audiences. It transports us into our interior, taking us to those private and imaginary worlds where we take refuge when things go wrong. Worlds bursting with colour, full of unusual and magic forms, where anything is possible.
The Taiwanese writer Jimmy Liao does not just spin idle yarns but rather tells authentic, simple and direct stories. This piece is about children and adults who still have a child inside and invent worlds to hide in when reality is too hard to face. The characters move in strange worlds full of colours and imagination, where there are mountains of animated clothes, forests of trees, stairs into the sky, characters with wings, flowers, endless choreographies with chairs…

The contemporary dance company Nats Nus was founded in 1987 under the direction of Toni Mira. In 1998, under the artistic direction of Claudia Moreso, they began creating dance shows for family audiences and children with the aim of introducing dance to youngsters and making choreographic language a channel for communication, expression and entertainment for both the young and old. From 2005 to 2008, thanks to the residency plan supported by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat (Government of Catalonia) and the Teatre Auditori in Sant Cugat, they began an ambitious educational and artistic programme to bring contemporary dance to state schools. From 2009 to 2012 it has been carried out at the state schools in Sitges.
The company has received awards such as the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona in 2009 and the Premi Nacional de Dansa de Catalunya in 2010. The Mercat co-produced and presented the work Momentari in the 2008-09 season.
Mons has been created on the base of different works and residencies at primary schools in the districts of Gràcia and Marina.
