In some parts of Latin America, the word “fiebre” – i.e. fever – is used to express intensity, excitement or an overflowing enthusiasm for something done unconditionally and with no interest beyond satisfying an internal need. In LaCerda’s previous piece, El Baile de la Zurda, a new system of choreographic composition emerged, the “mantras”, inspired by dance marathons and encoded in a repetitive loop. FIEBRE continues to explore the ball as the raw material of choreographic creation, seeking transgression in the mundane, musical and carnal aspects of dancing in its role as a social phenomenon.

LaCerda is a contemporary dance company founded in 2013 with the intention of investigating the concept of ritual and the mysteries it generates on stage. Its members work from the perspective of experience, sensation and gut feelings with the goal of expressing the primordial character of dance, which precedes words and concepts. It is marked by a strong aesthetic character, influenced by the spirit of ritual dances and the poetic dimension of dance.
