Sebastià Gasch (Barcelona, 1897-1980) was an art critic and a lucid chronicler of the performing arts. His pen helped highlight scenic expressions such as the circus, illusionism, music hall and puppets, banished by high culture. A fellow student of Joan Miró and an epistolary friend of Federico García Lorca, Gasch was the promoter of the Manifest Groc, a document that opposed the noucentist culture and which was also signed by Salvador Dalí and Lluís Montanyà. His pen was lavished on numerous publications, among them Destino magazine.
