SOL PICÓ CIA. DE DANSA

Sol Picó speculates on the status of women, enriching her understanding through the perspective of women from all over the world and through their diversity, which she incorporates into We Women. This, then, is a portrait of contemporary woman where four choreographers, who are also the dancers, and three musicians of international renown pose the same questions and seek the same answers despite coming from radically different backgrounds and cultures.

Based in Barcelona, the choreographer and dancer Sol Picó founded her own company in 1993 and has developed her own personal style since then. She has more than 30 shows to her name, many of them award-winners, such as Bésame el cactus, La dona manca o Barbi Superstar and El llac de les mosques. In 2004 she was awarded the National Dance Prize by the Generalitat Government of Catalonia and in 2016 she was granted the National Dance Prize by the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
