We started by trying to change the world with a show. We felt like idiots. Afterwards we danced. We jumped. We turned to the popular traditions of Sardinia and the Basque Country. We sang. We jumped again. We engaged. Now we have made the promise that we will never part. We have promised to persevere. We have promised we will do anything there is in our hands to get it.
The work of London-based artists Igor Urzelai and Moreno Solinas is characterized by its interest on body movement and by action’s immediacy in linking meanings, ideas and desires. They wish to regain theatre as a meeting point and to explore the cathartic properties of live shows. Their shows deal with human being and with why are we such special animals, and they create the ideal frame in which to share their ideas without prescribing a single reading but rather generating a reflection space for the spectator. At that point, they enjoy a residency at The Place.
Choreography and performance Igor Urzelai, Moreno Solinas / Artistic associate Simon Ellis / Live music Extractes de Procurade ’e moderare (Francesco Ignazio Mannu); When I’m Sixty-Four (The Beatles); Quanto t’ho amato (Roberto Benigni); Al alba (Luis Eduardo Aute); Zure begiek (Mikel Laboa).
