MACARENA RECUERDA SHEPHERD

This piece completes the trilogy on illusionism begun by the artist in 2017, in which she explores how illusion connects with the essence of the theatrical, using the stage to address convention and magic, reality and its double, action and fiction. In Cosa, perceptual images are investigated from the scenographic apparatus, with the body as just another material, reifying it to the point of turning it into a prop.

 Macarena Recuerda Shepherd has been working as a visual and stage artist for 10 years and has created numerous and diverse works, some of them in collaboration with organizations such as Teatre Lliure, Antic Teatre, NEO Festival, Bilbao Arte and Festival Grec, among many others. Since 2012, her research work has focused on the role of the spectator and the invention of new spaces in which to play, create and think collectively.
