SÒNIA GÓMEZ

Based on the innate drive of creatures to move, discover and explore without fear, this creation portrays a staged tableau that focuses on balance. The show is divided into two parts: MirAMirA, in which three specialists in balance, dance and performativity set up structures that dance with the body, fabrics and various objects, and MOuMOu, in which children are invited to take part. The common thread is a metaphor about the balances to find the place, our place in motion or in calm while looking and imagining.

Since 2004, Sònia Gómez, a dancer, performer and choreographer trained at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and the P.A.R.T.S school in Belgium, has been working on projects whose themes revolve around not only constructing identity, but also exposing certain social impostures through art as well as art’s own impostures through the body and performance. The last time we saw her at the Mercat de les Flors was with The black body, the blue mind and the fluorescent guts in October 2021. Now she’s back with a show for children.
