SÒNIA GÓMEZ

This show is a performative dance that dialogues with raw or slightly modified materials. It is a dialogue between the body of the dancer – Sònia Gómez, herself – and other organic materials such as clay, wool, cork, glass, natural latex, silk, wood, stone and vegetable fibres (initially). ELK is an investigation of energetic and scenic properties, a dramaturgy involving visible and invisible matter that aims to encourage the collective imagining of creative and healing spaces useful for everyday life.

Sònia Gómez is a dancer, performer and choreographer. She trained in contemporary dance and choreography at the Institut del Teatre and the P.A.R.T.S school in Brussels. Since 2004 she has been working on projects whose central theme is the construction of identity, but also the discovery of certain social deceptions through art and the deceptions of art through the body and performance. She has appeared at venues all over the world and won various awards for her shows.
