Dark Horses investigates the relationship between the body and electronic music through movement practices that have emerged in European hardcore scenes since the late 20th century. Drawing on genres such as stomping, hakken and jumpstyle, the piece explores how the body can develop strategies of adaptation and resistance to extreme speed and prolonged intensity. Both raves and this dance piece reveal themselves as ephemeral spaces where alternative forms of collective experience emerge, temporarily escaping the control of established power without aspiring to become a stable institution. They reveal a momentary crack of freedom.

Formed in 2019, Cia Sílvia Batet explores the crossover between movement, science and philosophy. Directed by choreographer Silvia Batet, the company has produced several pieces (one of them, OBLIVION, winner of the 2020 Institut del Teatre Dance Award). Their shows have been staged at the principal dance festivals in Spain and they are currently beginning to tour internationally. The company, which combines formal simplicity with structural complexity, seeks to expand the language of the body and explore in depth its emotional and conceptual resonance on stage.
