(LA) HORDE – BALLET NATIONAL DE MARSEILLE

This new show by the dance collective (LA)HORDE continues to explore dance as a way of transgressing imposed narratives. Après moi, le déluge (“After me, the flood”) emerges as a turning point in this fragile moment when the world seems to be falling apart. The dancers’ monstrous figures reflect the structures that shape our world: power, heritage and domination, but also the possibility of transformation.

Created in 2013, (LA)HORDE is a team of choreographers and visual artists who took over the direction of the Ballet National de Marseille in 2019. Since their beginnings, they have worked with communities on the margins of mainstream culture, exploring the political power of dance. Their approach is deeply transdisciplinary and combines choreography, visual arts and cinematography. In the 2024-25 season we could see their piece Age of Content at the Mercat.

The choreographer Roland Petit founded the Ballets de Marseille in 1974 and it became a in 1984.
