GHETTO is about how addiction can take over our lives like a stealthy predator, trapping its victims in a vicious cycle where fleeting pleasure inevitably dissolves into despair. However, a ray of hope gradually emerges within this stark contrast between illusion and reality: a pathway to healing constructed through the transformative power of suffering and resilience.
The artistic career of choreographer and performer Marcelo Nunes is rooted in a relentless search for novelty, influenced by his experiences in Brazil and Europe. His work is based around the techniques of three types of circus figure: trapeze artist, clown and fakir, exploring the wild nature of humanity. Marcelo Nunes treats the body as a means of communication, immersing himself in the cruelty and beauty of the human condition. While onstage, he engages the audience in a genuine dialogue, revealing an often hidden humanity. Through his shows, he seeks to foster a poetic resonance involving the artist and the audience.
