LOS GALINDOS

MDR is a farce whose goal is to both entertain and make people uncomfortable, questioning the arbitrariness of justice through clowns and the circus. A story of sincere, raw friendship emerges from this hilarious but terrifying experience, motivated by feelings of responsibility and guilt. Melon, Mardi and Rossinyol find themselves in an unexpected impasse. Their indomitable, awkward characters and the need to exist head them into this improbable work where laughter, pleasure and fantasy are the driving forces. Paradoxically, they may even provoke the desire to kill oneself laughing.

Los Galindos made their debut in 1991 and have developed a very personal artistic project. They have also been involved in educational and promotional activities and have presented their work abroad with fifteen shows. They have received various awards, including the 2016 Catalonia’s National Culture Prize for career achievement, the 2023 Talía Prize for the best circus show with MDR – Mort de riure, the 2022 Ciutat de Barcelona Prize for the performing arts, the 2022 Teatre Barcelona Prize for the best circus and clown show, the 2021 Critics’ Prize for the best circus show, the 2021 Zirkólika Special Jury Prize and the 2021 Valladolid TAC Audience Prize.
