When we play, anything is possible: the ground is made of lava, objects fly through the air and everyday objects take on a whole new meaning. The stool is a raft, a bridge, a house, a tower. It stands on its head, lies on its side, stands on its feet… From an almost infinite selection of possibilities, new worlds playfully emerge with their own rules, which are repeatedly changed, expanded and discarded. But how do you take one game to the next? Who decides what happens next? Who makes the rules and how do you make the best decision? And what happens if someone doesn’t want to participate?

Three dancers engage in a game within the game to explore different rules, spaces and options in each other’s play world. They demolish one to build and explore another. Spiel Im Spiel is a virtuosic, playful, humorous and emotional dance piece for children and families alike.
