PALOMA MUÑOZ

After a year of touring around the country, we return to present the Mercat’s fifth CÈL·LULA project, by the choreographer Paloma Muñoz. This work is based on the image of a devastated, rough and dry landscape, as well as the need to return to the origins and the body as the motor of creation, with the intention of searching for poetry in bodies in movement. It is a journey inward, to the substance that resides inside the bones, and, as such, dance from the very core, returning to the body, not only as an individual, but also as a collective in search of a personal and shared encounter.

Choreographer and dancer Paloma Muñoz has worked with companies, such as I.T.Dansa, Metros, Ramón Oller, Thomas Noone Dance and Norrdans. She has her own company, Siberia, and is an artist-in-residence at the Mercat de les Flors for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 seasons. She is also a guest choreographer in international companies in countries such as Germany, Switzerland and Italy. In addition, she develops audiovisual projects ranging from video dance to film choreography.
