LORAINE DAMBERMONT
Toujours de 3/4 face!

Not without humour, Loraine Dambermont delivers a hyper energetic solo in which she reveals her best self-defense secret skills. Her performance challenges the physical and mental virtuosity of the performer by pushing the limits of a constrained body between a marathon of hyper fast movements and the extreme precision of its own musicality.

Loraine Dambermont is a Belgian artist. By mixing several dance techniques; from Hip-hop to Contemporary dance, focusing mainly on popping and floor work, she works towards creating an explosive energy. In 2013, she won a choreographic prize with the duet Buy My City – a work in collaboration with Noora Hannula She is currently touring internationally with her latest solo TOUJOURS DE 3/4 FACE! – selection Aerowaves Spring Forward 2023 – as well as working on her new work; second part of the project called MES ANNÉES BAGARRE, which has started in fall 2023. Since October 2023, she is accompanied by BLOOM Project, a Belgian office of production and distribution based in Brussels.

LEÏLA KA
To cut loose

On a bare stage, lectures are raining. There is the one who receives them, seems vulnerable, and the one that nothing stops, insolent, whose body like a caged lion tries to free itself. On a crescendo of electro basses, a body that shouts loud and clear that it must exult at all costs. To cut loose is the third piece of Leïla Ka, and has been awarded by “choreographic price” of the Syndicats de la critique in 2022.

Leïla Ka began her journey as a multi-disciplinary dance artist. She used her experiences of working in theatrical dance (such as in Maguy Marin’s May B) to build on her own choreographic process. Her first piece, the solo “Pode ser” has been awarded six times internationally and performed more than 200 times since its creation in 2018. She has also created a duet “You’re the one we love” (2020), a second solo piece To cut loose (2022) and her first one hour piece “Maldonne” in november 2023.
Leïla is now an associate artist at Centquatre-Paris, La Garance – Scène Nationale de Cavaillon, in Dieppe, scène nationale and in residence at Espace 1789.
