Wherever the Music Takes You II | 20′

This duo formed by Ayelen Parolin and the composer and pianist Lea Petra mocks the current times, dominated by security and predictive algorithms.

The Argentinean choreographer and dancer Ayelen Parolin lives and works in Brussels. After performing for choreographers such as Mathilde Monnier, Mossoux-Bonte, Jean-François Peyret, Mauro Paccagnella Louise Vanneste, since 2004, she has developed personal work where each of her creations revolves around a motif from which she constructs choreographic writing.

“As an artist, I have always been attracted to darkness, the darker side of the human being (to use Jung’s expression) and in particular, to everything that brings us closer to the animal, the idiot or the naivety of childhood. In this duo, I would like to embark on this “exploration in alchemy” by starting more precisely from the figures of the idiot and the clown, examining their vulnerability, inadequacy, absurdity, and ridicule. Not in order to represent them, rather to locate them within ourselves, and use them almost as a subversive weapon. A weapon whose explosions can be a means to openly explore laughter and comedy”.
