Orgia

January, 2, 23, 24 and 25
Popup - Descomptes

Orgia puts body through the sexualised gaze and looks for ways to show the beauty of the pleasure of bodies (associated with prohibition, dissidence or immorality). The choreographic research aims to deconstruct choreographic tools from different countercultural dances (voguing, waacking, twerking and dancehall) in order to generate a scenic narrative that questions the sexualised, capitalistic and heteronormative gaze directed at the body.

Miquel Barcelona has more than 25 years of professional experience in the world of dance and performing arts, with directors, choreographers and colleagues such as Carolyn Carlson, Juan Kruz de Garaio Esnaola, Raffaelle Giovanola, Darío Fo, Àlex Rigola, Qars Teatre, Cobosmika Company and Laura Vilar, among others. It is part of the SAT ALIANSAT project! Sant Andreu Teatre (SAT) 19-21, is a member of the nilak artistic team and is co-founder of the creative space nunArt Creacions Contemporànies. The Miquel Barcelona Company is part of the Barcelona Activa CREAmedia Programme 2020.
