Music and inverted dance on the inverted: this is how Pere Faura presents his new proposal, halfway between concert and dance. Through songs that are part of the collective memory of generations of LGTBI people, the artist reinterprets, dances and exposes them from his personal and always occurring filter. Remembering the past in order to question the present. An inverted performance about myths, hymns and songs created by inverted people, as an interdisciplinary, polyamorous and fluid act about identity, wardrobes, music and dance.
Pere Faura began his career in the Netherlands, and in 2011 he returned to Barcelona, from where he created several productions, some of which we have seen at the Mercat, such as Rèquiem Nocturn, the CÈL·LULA project’s second production. After 20 shows of his own creation, commissioned projects, choreographies for theatre, cinema and galas, and having created and presented a television programme and written a book about his tools and obsessions, the pandemic and turning 40 brought him back to his origins and to a master’s degree in musical composition using new technologies a the ESMUC. He put music back at the centre of his practice, creating it with choreographic tools and framing it within his new Mètode Rosa.
