KOREA NATIONAL CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY KNCDC

Jungle presents a struggle between the body’s instincts and vitality, a fierce confrontation within a stage transformed into a jungle. The dancers deploy captivating and atypical movements to recreate situations we face in our daily lives and reflect on the depth of our existence. The piece develops the movement method created by KNCDC’s artistic director, Kim Sungyong, called Process Init.

Founded in 2010, the Korea National Contemporary Dance Company (KNCDC) is Korea’s only national contemporary dance company. Through collaboration with artists with exceptional creative abilities, the KNCDC aspires to create Korean contemporary dance that tells stories of contemporary history, society, and daily life. In May 2023, choreographer Kim Sungyong became the fifth artistic director of KNCDC.
