PAZ ROJO

Hacer Historia(s) IV: Hipersueño

Popup - Descomptes

Hipersueño addresses the relationship between dance and the unknown. It is a performance of touch in which the dancers Arantxa Martínez and Paz Rojo transmit to each other the sounds of birds, the sounds they are listening to at this moment, a landscape, the weight of their legs as they scrub the surface, atoms, an earthquake, etc. “Transmitting” as a fully communicative exercise is not about consolidating what they know, but about relating to the unknown. A state of constant transition that favours a dance generated from responsibilities and response-skills. For her part, sound artist and performer Luz Prado proposes a live listening relationship. In Hipersueño, sound and movement intertwine and produce an alternative texture in terms of the sensitive when different times, spaces, devices and intuitions are touched.

Paz Rojo is an artist, dancer and researcher. PhD in Performative Practices with a specialisation in Choreography from the Stockholm University of the Arts (Sweden). In 2021, she began the artistic research framework Morir bien, carrying out curatorial, mediation, artistic direction and creative activities, which included the solo Lo que baila; the stage practice test and seminar Ha sido aún no, todavía, as a part of the series Apuntes para un tiempo y aparte at the Museo Reina Sofía; and the stage creation Hipersueño. She is the author of the book Bailar en la era del no-futuro, published by La Uña Rota (2025).
