This piece emerges after a process of reflection by Jesus Rubio as a result of the pandemic. In this solo, the dancer and choreographer unfolds on stage, to music by Bach. It is an ode to the mobility of the body and thought, to the flow of ideas and questions, to the small revelations and the ability we have to remember and to project ourselves. It is a ballad to this world that is always there for us, no matter how lonely or isolated we feel.
Jesús Rubio Gamo is an independent dancer and choreographer who has been producing his own creations since 2008. He studied classical ballet, contemporary dance, theatre and literature and has a master’s degree in Choreography from the London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) – for which he received a distinction – amongst other studies. His plays have been put on at festivals such as Chantiers d’Europe, Théâtre de la Ville de Paris; Brandhaarden Festival, International Theatre Amsterdam; Dancenet Sweden or Lima Performing Arts Festival, amongst many others.
