“COMETA sends children on a journey of adventure and imagination that begins on stage and ends in an unknown galaxy full of surprises.” —Rheinische Post
On a space shuttle, helmet in hand, a cosmonaut. Cometa is an unexpected traveller who invites us, through her curiosity and discoveries, to look at our surroundings with new eyes, with the eyes of a child. Together we will embark on a galactic adventure in which we will rediscover and marvel at the force of gravity, the infinite possibilities of movement and the power of empathy. Geometry, play and the speed of light. The universe, imagination and interstellar travel. And above all, a party to celebrate that we have found each other!
Roser López Espinosa has been present on the international scene since 2006 and has created large-scale pieces such as L’estol for the Producció Nacional de Dansa and Trama (Award for Best Choreography at the 22nd Premis de la Crítica). Cometa, co-produced with the “Vorpommern tanzt an” initiative (Germany), has fascinated young and old all over the world. As a choreographer, she has received invitations from international companies such as Skånes Dansteater (Sweden), the Scottish Dance Theatre (UK), the Zagreb Dance Company (Croatia) and the MiR Dance Company (Germany). She also collaborates with several circus companies. Associate artist at La Caldera, artist-in-residence at Mercat de les Flors 2018-2021 and resident in exchange 2022 at the National Theater & Concert Hall (Taiwan), she channels her work through her company Lowland.
